Thursday's Thought

Deuteronomy 3:24

O Lord God, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?

Good morning, family and friends!
There are days when the Scriptures and a song seem to say it all for me. I love the Word of God and I love songs. There are verses that I can recall meaning something to me when I was a child yet they are still special even now, just like songs from long ago still touch me today. Then, some days I will read a scripture and it seems oh so new, the same is true of some new songs. Things new and old, how very precious!
This song was on my heart earlier and, along with today's scripture verse, it says what my heart feels....
How Great Is Our God
by Chris Tomlin

The splendor of a king
Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice

He wraps Himself in light
And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God
Sing with me
How great is our God
And all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end

The Godhead three are one
Father, Spirit, Son
Lion and the Lamb
Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God
Sing with me
How great is our God
And all will see
How great, how great is our God

Name above all names
He is worthy of all praise
And my heart will sing
How great is our God

I can't say it any better than the author of Deuteronomy nor the artist who wrote this song. Our God is the greatest!!
Have a blessed day, living for our great God, and praising Him all day long. Hope to see you again tomorrow!!

Wednesday's Whisper

Psalm 145:14-19

14 The Lord upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.
15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.
16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.
17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.
18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

Wow! It's Wonderful Wednesday once again.... Good morning, one and all!
The Lord is good all the time. Can somebody say, "Amen"? There is no God like our God; no Rock like our Rock. He reigns in majesty; He is truly awesome.
I opened my Bible and read several chapters this morning, but the verses that I chose for today from Psalm 145 stood out to me. I especially like verse 16 where it speaks of the Lord opening his hand! Have you ever received anything from the hand of the Lord? I have, and I am sure you have. Are we able to even comprehend or explain the size of the Lord's hand? It's bigger than the biggest. His hand is opened to me and you. We are His children and He is our God.
There are so many golden nuggets within the pages of the Bible. During any and every situation we face, we can search His Word and find help sufficient for the need. Whenever a child needs something and they ask of their parents, the parent then opens their hands to give it to the child. How much more does our Heavenly Father not only listen to our cries but He is ready and willing to open His hand to grant our desires.
David further wrote in Psalm 145:18 that, "The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth." He is as close to us as we want Him to be. Close, and He's listening, with an open hand to grant our petitions.
This song is on my heart and I feel it will put the final touches on today's post:
Bless His Holy Name
by Andrae Crouch

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And all that is within me
Bless His holy name

He has done great things
He has done great things
He has done great things
Bless His holy name

The Lord is waiting for us to call. His ears are open; His eyes are upon us, and His hand is waiting to open to heal, deliver, and provide.
May The Wonderful WOW you with His Whispering Wonders today!! Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow with yet another spoonful!

Tuesday's Tidbit

Matthew 7:7-8

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Good morning, family and friends!
I'm thankful for the word of God, the Bible, as upon it I stand. John 1:1 declares, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Heaven and earth may pass away, but not the Word! We can stand upon the word of God.
Today's verses bring to us hope and promise. If we ask, it will be given; if we seek, we will find; and if we knock, the door shall be opened to us. What blessed promises! What hope! God is aware of every inquiry from His children. His eyes are always upon the seekers, and not one knock upon Heaven's door ever goes unheard or unnoticed.
I am not asking God for anything for myself today but for a friend who needs a miracle, and He alone knows the heart of today's post better than any. When all is said and done, God alone is the One and only One who can (and I believe He will) give the physical miracle my friend needs!
I heard a song on the radio last night, right after I had returned home from a wonderful prayer meeting at our church. How very much like God to let that particular song play at just the right moment. I am sharing it with you today.....
When Nothing But a Miracle Will Do
by the McRaes

Verse One
When you've tried everything,
And everything you've tried has failed
When you're standing at the harbor
And the ship of hope has sailed;
Friends have no answers
And peace just can't be found
Oh, but there's a hand of mercy
That can turn it all around

Chorus
When nothing but a miracle will do
There's nothing that the hand of God
Cannot bring you through
I know He's more than able
And He will deliver you
When nothing but a miracle will do

Verse Two
When you cried out in the darkness
And no one seems to hear
Just because you can't see Him
Doesn't mean He isn't near
Perhaps He's only waiting
'Til you've done all you can do
Until He's the only thing that's left to hold onto

Verse Three
In your time of trials,
When you face the trial of doubt
Oh, just listen to a crowd of witnesses
You'll hear them crying out
From a lions' den, and a fiery furnace
From the belly of a whale
Through prison walls, at a hopeless turn
Walks a God who never fails
Ask Daniel and Jonah, Peter and Paul,
They're shouting with Lazarus,
He's living, after all

Believe with me today for my friend's miracle! Our God is awesome, and well able to do more than what we ask Him to do. Here's another one of my favorite verses that I've held onto more times than I can count:

Ephesians 3:20

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

There's a miracle in the making on this Terrific Tuesday. I feel it! I believe it!
Hope to see you again tomorrow!

Monday's Moment

Deuteronomy 3:24

O Lord God, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?

Good morning, and a Marvelous Monday morning to you all!
Today I'm thinking about how big our God is; about His greatness. Goodness seems to indicate the kindness of God while the greatness of God reveals His power. What a kind and powerful God we serve today! There is no other God beside Him nor any God like Him!
Our God can do anything; nothing is too hard for Him. It stands to reason that the God who created all can surely do all we need Him to do, or we ask Him to do. He is not a God that pampers us like spoiled children, but He does know what is best for us, and if we will trust His wisdom, we cannot go wrong.
I have a favorite album by Joseph Habedank, and here is one song from that album that seems to fit with today's post:
Big Enough
by Michael Farren and Joseph Habedank

Verse One
I've got a heart that's full of faith-filled helplessness
There are mountains ahead that I can't move by myself
But I know when I'm weak, He's strong
When I can barely breathe, there's still a song,
Even though it's hard right now,
I'm not here on my own....
Chorus
So when it seems it can't be done
I know God is big enough
I can run the race I'm called to run,
Cause I know God is big enough
He'll finish everything He starts
He'll meet us right here where we are,
I can feel faith rising up,
Cause I know God is big enough
Verse Two
On the days that shadows of doubt make me feel small,
I'll declare that I don't stand in my strength at all,
Cause I won't live a day You didn't plan
Every single moment is in Your hands
Even if the whole world shakes
You're the Rock on which I stand.......
Bridge
Bigger than the fear that surrounds me
Bigger than the chains that have bound me,
Bigger than the story my past could tell,
Bigger than the weight of tomorrow,
Bigger than the hurt and the sorrow,
Bigger than the lies I've told myself

May your Monday be marvelous because of the revelation that our Master is Mighty, Magnificent, Majestic.... and MORE!!!
God bless you all today and, Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow for another spoonful!

Sunday's Specialty

Psalm 18:1-7

1 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.
2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
6 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

Good morning to all of you on this Special Sunday!
It has been a week, and a very long week, since I've been in church. To say that I am looking forward to being in God's house once again is an understatement - I am excited about going. It's hard for me to understand how people can live their lives without the joy, comfort and peace of God and the shelter of His sanctuary.
In June of 1991, we attended a campmeeting in Jayess, MS. In one evening service, the minister spoke about "When God Moves Out of His Place." Just before that service, I had heard that a dear friend in AL had cancer and she was going into surgery within a few days. The minister preached with anointing about how we can move God. I know it sounds far-fetched to say it that way but something grew within me that I could seek God and He would move for me for my friend. I remember lifting my hands in that service and praying earnestly, "God, would you please move for my friend." And He did. The cancer was contained in a small sac in her back with no trace of it anywhere else. I shared with her what had happened in that service.
Yesterday, I learned that a dear friend was facing a serious physical situation. I found a place to pray, and while I was earnestly seeking God, the sermon from 1991, and the above verses came to my mind. Once again, I pleaded with God to "move out of His place" for a friend! I believe He heard me, as well as others who were praying for this same sweet saint of God. With faith and anticipation, I await a text or call that God has performed the miraculous for my friend.
God still moves. He still hears prayers, and He answers them in His time and according to His will. Yet, with all that is within me, I strongly believe that we can move God with our tears and our pleas.
While I was typing, a few lines from an old song came to my mind. When I Googled it, I was touched by the words in verse 2, and how they were connect to today's post:

Faith in God Can Move a Mighty Mountain
Words and music for the verses by Grace Marilyn Watkins
Words and music for the chorus by John W. Peterson and Alfred B. Smith

Verse One
Have you prayers that seem to be unanswered?
Anxious moments, trials hard to bear?
Have faith in His promise unfailing
He will answer your prayer.
Chorus
Faith in God can move a mighty mountain,
Faith can calm the troubled sea;
Faith can make a desert like a fountain,
Faith will bring the victory.
Verse Two
Are there loved ones yet for whom you're burdened?
Lonely nights spent bowed in fervent prayer?
God sees ev'ry tear and your heartache,
So just cast upon Him all your care.
Verse Three
Then keep faith, although the way be rugged,
Do not doubt His deep, unfailing love.
Sufficient each day for the trial
Is His promise of grace from above.

All across this world, people have great needs but, we serve a God big enough to hear each cry, and to answer each prayer. He's big enough to move for me in MS, while moving in GA, TX, CA...... He's big enough to do anything we can believe Him for!
God bless you all with the most special Sunday you've ever had!! I hope to see you again tomorrow with another spoonful of daily tonic!
