Friday's Footnote

Hebrews 6:10

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Good morning, family and friends..... IT'S FRIDAY!!
One of the many attributes of God is that He never forgets (unless it's the sins we committed that are under the blood). He sees all and remembers all, and we have scripture to prove this point. Whatever work we are involved in for the Lord will be remembered by Him, and it is not in vain.
We have traveled throughout many states over the past three years and in every church where my husband ministers, I have witnessed firsthand the labor of love that ministers and their wives, and their children are doing for the Lord. They are trying to reach their world while leading a group of people to the Promised Land, much like Moses did. Many of the pastors we've met during our travels exhibit a beautiful, friendly, tireless disposition, yet it's obvious to us that, even though they are working for the Lord, their bodies and minds are taxed to the max.
I have loved Hebrews 6:10 for quite some time now; it has been a source of strength for me on more than one occasion, and I've often written this verse in cards to fellow laborers in the gospel in an effort to encourage them along their journeys. God will remember everything that any of us have done for Him!
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians, provoking them in love to keep up the good work; keep abounding in the work of the Lord - because it was not, and is still not, in vain. All we do for God is of value. We may not see the results right away but God will use our labor for His glory - in HIS time.
I guess today's blog post is just a simple reminder, and a gentle spoonful of encouragement to keep on keeping on! Our race will soon be over, and a reward awaits! Hearing Jesus say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant," will be payment of the sweetest kind. But, seeing Him, and being with Him eternally will be the greatest reward. So, labor on - keep abounding - FOR THE LORD! All that you do is seen by the Lord, and it will always be valued.
In closing, here's a simple chorus, as sung by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir:
God is gonna finish just what He started
Even though the water's got to be parted
Lift up your head, don't be brokenhearted
God is gonna finish what He started in you
Until tomorrow, Lord willing..........
Friday's Footnote: Fight on, faithful soldier for Jesus Christ. The battle is almost over!
