Sunday's Specialty

Psalm 44:1

We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.

Good morning, and Happy Father's Day!
Today's spoonful will be a tribute to the men whom God has blessed to lead their families! I was blessed to have a Dad who led our family in the ways of the Lord, and taught us many valuable lessons about life. Then, I was blessed to marry a man who became a wonderful Dad to the three children that God gave to us.
The role of a father in a home is so important as they are the strength of the family. Our society has slowly torn down the importance of two-parent families but I will forever be grateful that I grew up in a time when a mother and a father were common in most homes.
My Dad taught us to love God and His word, and each morning I can remember seeing him with his Bible, followed by a time of prayer on his knees. He was sold out for Jesus, and he was a great example to follow in his faithfulness to church. In addition to that, he was a hard worker, one who loved his family, and who believed in giving way more than he ever expected to receive. The first man I ever loved, and I still call him my hero.
I feel very privileged to be married to a man who loves being a father and grandfather. Like my Dad, he loves God, His Word, and prayer. He's been a great provider, with a desire to progress in life. Above all, what inspires me most about my husband is his intense passion for people. He loves people, and looks for opportunities to talk to anyone he meets. He is truly my best friend on earth; the one I love deeply and who has shown me the most unconditional love I've ever known.
May God richly bless all fathers here on earth today, and for those who no longer have a living father, I pray for your comfort.
This chorus seems to blend with our topic today:
There's a roof up above me
I've a good place to sleep
There's food on my table
And shoes on my feet
You gave me Your love, Lord,
And a fine family
Thank You, Lord, for your blessings on me

Enjoy time with your Dad today, if you can! Be grateful for his place in your life.
Until tomorrow, Lord willing...................
