2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Have you ever gone on a treasure hunt? While I have never experienced that type of treasure seeking, almost fifty years ago, my soul wanted to find something of value. I needed and wanted something worth living for. SOMEONE worth living for, is what I found. Through the born again experience as mentioned in John 3 and Acts 2, I found the treasure of salvation. My life was forever changed!
As the above verse points out, we are blessed to have this treasure in us but the great power is of God and not of us. It is truly the greatest treasure of all, and over time it has become dearer and dearer to me.
What we love, we pursue. If something matters to us, we will find time for it, and whatever or whomever we love, we will cherish.
Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
By way of prodding, and gentle provoking, I hope to encourage all of us (myself included) to seek the treasure that matters; things that are eternal. God's treasures are abundant, but it's up to us to seek. Great things await; we just have to go after them.
Until tomorrow, Lord willing..........
Thanks for the encouragement!
