Wednesday's Whisper

Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Wonderful whispers to you all this Wednesday!

I love this verse from Isaiah, but my focus for today is the first name given to Jesus - WONDERFUL. Just one word yet there is more content in that word than we can grasp. What is meant by it? These are just a few definitions of that one word:

Extremely good

Marvelous

Splendid

Capable of eliciting wonder

Astonishing

I believe we would all agree that these adjectives (and so many more) can be used to describe Jesus Christ. He IS wonderful and He DOES wonders! 

Psalm 77:14

Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

Sandi Patti wrote and sang it best.... 

"He's more wonderful than my mind can conceive...."

One of my favorite choruses (lyrics by Juanita Bynum) says it beautifully, " - 

"Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, what a wonder You are...."

A close relationship with a friend allows one to see their attributes, and it's even greater when that close friend is Jesus Christ. When you know Him and you love Him, it is very apparent that He is wonderful, not only on Wednesdays but every day of the week, month, year, decade, century.... ALWAYS!!

Take time to appreciate the Wonderful and His Wonders today!
