Psalm 76:11
Vow, and pay unto the Lord your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
Good morning.... it's Sunday!
We all love receiving gifts or presents, don't we? Be honest now. We really do love to receive something special from another person. Well, I believe the scripture above will let us know that GOD loves presents, too. I wonder what type of presents God loves? After all, He owns EVERYTHING. Why would He need or want something else?
Hopefully, most of us will be making our way to church soon. When we get there, we need to give it our best. That's a present I imagine that God really loves - our full attention. Many churches I have attended during our evangelistic journey have what is called pre-church prayer. It has been a part of my life for a long time this going to church early to spend time with others in prayer. So, here's another gift we can gift God - time with Him in prayer.
At some point at the beginning of the church service, there is a time for greeting one another. THIS is a gift to give God... to be like Him and to show love. If Jesus was physically in the church, can't you just imagine Him going around greeting people? I can, and I believe it is an important part of who we are - an extension of Him. So greet your neighbor and give a friendly handshake or a hug.
Sing unto the Lord - another gift. Worship Him - a BIG gift because He's a BIG God, worthy of all our praise! Praise Him for His mighty acts. The gifts are piling up... and even though God owns everything, these are gifts only we can give Him. Our adoration. Our love. Exalt Him. Magnify Him.
I hope you go to church this morning loaded down with gifts for God. After all, each day that we live God loads us down with benefits. He doesn't need anything but He deserves so much more than has been mentioned in this blog post.
Remember, it is still more blessed to give than to receive.. what a blessing WE will receive if we give GOD the presents He deserves today.... and every day!
Love and prayers to all my blog friends... hoping this is a Special Sunday to all of you!
Until tomorrow, Lord willing............
