Tuesday's Tidbit

Isaiah 41:10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Good morning, one and all!

Humans have a tendency to fear, and God is aware of our fear. Many times throughout the Bible we can read, "Fear not", but I'd like to focus on the first eight words of today's verse. "Fear thou not; for I am with thee". Only a few words carrying a huge message. The words was written long ago by a holy prophet, but they are relevant today. A personal message to each Christian. God is speaking to us, "Don't be afraid. I am with you. I am here." What a comfort!

If we focus on the negativity around us each day, our hearts will lean toward being fearful. Yet, if we turn our attention to the One who has begotten us through His word; the One who has redeemed our souls with His precious blood; the One who filled us with HIS Spirit...... the fear dissipates and a calm takes over. 

David wrote, "The Lord  is my strength and my shield." (Psalm 28:7) Talk about our very own personal bodyguard and secret service agent - with us 24/7. John wrote in I John 4:18 that "perfect love casteth out all fear". In order to keep fear at bay, we must stay in love with Jesus!

God's word is our comfort and our help. In light of the affairs of our nation and our world, we surely need to embrace it now more than ever.

Embrace God's love and protection today. Be grateful for it. Fall in love with Him and fear falls away!
