Psalm 103:21
Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
Good morning to all of you!
I love vacations, don't you? I love getting away from the normal routines of life to see different sights, shop in different stores, enjoy different events, and eat different foods. Lately, though, what I have come to realize is that pleasures don't last forever. When you've eaten ribs at one place, you start dreaming of eating custard at another. One shop is not enough to browse through so you go to twenty more stores. Pleasure in temporal things simply does not satisfy what matters most, and that's the soul.
There comes a time, when the things our flesh enjoys must be put aside in order to find time to worship with God's people at church; a time to do what GOD wants us to do. Nothing satisfies like time spent in God's presence, doing HIS pleasure. The best shops in town, the best BBQ restaurant, nor the best entertainment can compete with the wonderful presence of God.
So, leaving behind all we have enjoyed this week, let's find our way to the sanctuary, and fully enjoy giving back to God something for all He has given to us. Let's make HIS praise glorious, forgetting what we want to do and thinking only of Him.
Here's a simple chorus to complete today's spoonful:
In Your presence
In Your presence
I find everything I need
Sitting at Your feet
In Your presence
In Your presence
No place on earth I'd rather be
Until tomorrow, Lord willing.............
