Tuesday's Tidbit

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Good morning, family and friends!

During our travels over the past three years, I have driven very little, allowing my husband to do most of that task. But, this past Saturday, it was necessary for me to drive one car (that we were trying to sell) as my husband drove the newer one we had recently purchased. He led and I followed. As we moved along the highways, I had to keep a watchful eye on my leader that day.

Traveling went well for a while, and then we found ourselves in a heavy downpour. I could barely see, almost losing sight of my husband ahead of me. At one point, if we had not been careful, an accident could have occurred. But, God was good and watched over us. I was grateful when we reached our destination.

As I drove that day, I thought a lot about the journey of life. Many days are filled with sunshine, and the roads are smooth and clear. But, then there are those days when the sun doesn't shine, and yet others when we travel through a storm. In every situation, and on every single day that we live, God is with us. I love the above verse from Deuteronomy, because it assures us that the Lord our God goes with us. We will never find ourselves on this road of life alone. What a wonderful thought!

Over hills, across high mountains, then dipping down into deep valleys - such is the road of life. We do not always know what we will encounter in our journey, but we must fear not, nor be dismayed. Nothing will happen to us that God does not know about. What He brings us TO, He will bring us THROUGH.

Keep traveling, dear Christian soldier. Our destination, heaven, is just ahead!

I love the chorus of the song, Daystar, written by Steve Richardson:

Lead me, Lord, I'll follow
Anywhere You open up the door
Let Your Word speak to me
Show me what I've never seen before
Lord, I want to be Your witness
You can take what's wrong and make it right
Daystar, shine down on me
Let Your love shine through me in the night

Until tomorrow, Lord willing.............
