Monday's Moment

Ephesians 4:11-12

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Good morning, everybody!
It's Marvelous Monday once again! Today, I would like to give thanks for ministers, or preachers, however you wish to address them. Very special people in my life, and in the church as a whole. God-called individuals who are devoted to leading His children in the paths of righteousness.
I have been blessed to be married to a minister for over forty years now (he actually became a minister after we were married about six years). My husband's passion for reaching the lost touches me every time I hear him preach, but I know firsthand that the life of a minister is not an easy one. We have been pastor and wife of several churches in several states during our marriage, and I hold memories of those years dear to my heart.
My Dad is a minister, a retired pastor, in fact. I have a son-in-law pastoring a home mission work in TX; a younger brother in the ministry (pastor in IL), as well as several brothers-in-law, and a nephew. Many of our closest friends are ministers. Preaching, sermons, conferences... my life has been full and rich because of those God has called to deliver His word.
Faith comes by hearing a preacher, according to the Word of God:

Romans 10:14-15

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

God chose the foolishness of preaching to save us:

1 Corinthians 1:21

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

I love to hear anointed preaching, and I am where I am today largely due to the pastors I've been under, as well as all areas of ministry. These God-called people spend hours studying and praying in order to hear from God, and deliver His word to congregations. They deserve our honor every day, for without them, we would be like sheep without a shepherd.
A special "Thank You" goes out to all ministers today. God bless you for your labor in the vineyards of the Lord.
May you all have a Marvelous Monday, and I hope to see you again tomorrow....
