Sunday's Specialty

Acts 2:38

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Good morning, one and all!
Today is Sunday, Special Sunday, our time to give God the firstfruits of the coming week. It is a day granted us by God so that we can live, move, and have our being in Him. God has made it special for us, so let us in turn make it special for Him!
With each revival we are privileged to be a part of, I am reminded of the beautiful plan of salvation. Typical of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost make up the plan that God laid out for all people. None are exempt yet none can climb up any other way and be saved (see John 10:1).
Repentance is a type of dying out at an altar; being truly sorry for the sins we have committed, and making a complete turn around in order to forsake our old life style of sin. This is a beautiful step in God's plan of salvation. Our sins are forgiven when we repent.
Baptism - immersion in the only saving name there is - the name of Jesus Christ. After our sins are forgiven, they need to be remitted or washed away, and baptism is how that is accomplished. We are buried with Him in baptism (see Romans 6:4 and Colossians 2:12).
The gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Christ comes to live within us through the power of the Holy Ghost, and the greatest power on earth it is! Many will reject the infilling of the Holy Ghost as unnecessary but those who do only reject something that they need to be full of! Without the Spirit of Christ we are none of His; we do not belong to Him without His Spirit (see Romans 8:9).
God's beautiful plan! I am so thankful that I followed this plan at a young age, and I have witnessed so many others follow it throughout the years. It's so simple yet some cannot seem to find it. I'm believing today that we will once again see God's plan unfold in the lives of individuals.
Enjoy your Special Sunday with the Savior, praying for lost souls to be drawn to follow Him, and thanking Him that you have been born again of the water and of the Spirit!
Once again, if He's willing, we'll meet again tomorrow and share another spoonful!
