Monday's Moment

2 Kings 6:14-17

14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.
15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?
16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Marvelous Monday to you all!
The above Bible story was mentioned by the first speaker in the Ladies' Retreat I attended last week. When Elisha's servant saw the horses, chariots, and great host surrounding them, he was greatly disturbed.
"Master, how shall we do?" was his cry.
But, Elisha prayed that God would open the eyes of his servant and allow him to see what was REALLY out there. That's when the servant saw the mountain full of horses and chariots of fire round about him and Elisha.
It is important that we have our eyes opened by God because, if we see through natural eyes, we will only see the terrifying, the bad, and the ugly. But when God opens our eyes, all of a sudden, we see Him and all His glory. Oh, to have God touch my eyes today!
Many disturbing things are happening around the nation; troubling things are happening in our families, our friends' families, and even in our churches. If we are carnal and only see what is before us, our hearts will constantly be troubled. But, Jesus still opens eyes so we can see that He is at work; He is still our strength and song.
I heard this chorus back in January but it was also sung at the Ladies' Retreat last week. I hope I can remember all the words.... (Sorry, but I do not know the artist's name.)
Lord, You are holy
Lord, You are righteous
You are so good

Lord, You are holy
Lord, You are righteous
You are so good

No matter what is going on with me
You are still the same
You are so good

Forever I will lift up my hands
And worship Your name
You are so good

It doesn't matter what is going on with me (for that's all I can see sometimes) but God remains the same. I choose to worship His name because He is faithful.
May your Monday be mighty Marvelous with our Magnificent Maker and Master!
I hope to be back tomorrow with Tuesday's Tidbit....
