Tuesday's Tidbit

Romans 12:10

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Good morning, family and friends!
'Tis Tuesday, Terrific Tuesday. This is another day to live, move, and serve the Lord. What will this day have in store for us? In what way can we do good unto others?
This song came to mind the other day, and it holds a special message:
Make Me an Instrument
by Lynn Michael Coffey
Verse 1

Flowers have the sunshine,
And the earth has the rain.
Lord, you know I am nothing,
Without your Spirit, my life is in vain.

So mold me and make me,
Help me to be more like you,
And make me an instrument,
Of love brand new.

Chorus
Make me an instrument of love today,
And may I remember your sweet children, Lord...
Every time that I pray.

Let me see the good side,
In the bad side of all my days,
And make me an instrument of love your way.

Verse 2
Some people speak about your love,
But to them I know it's just talk,
'Cause when I caught a glimpse of real love,
 It was hanging on an old rugged cross.

So, let me be like my Jesus,
As He prayed, "Father, forgive,"
And make me an instrument,
Of your love your way.

This song is a prayer that I want to pray every day; to be an instrument used of God, reaching out to others.

Then, there's this poem that goes along with our subject today:

Make Me An Instrument
by St. Francis Assisi - 13th Century

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen.

As we go about our business today, let's not forget that we are on this earth for a purpose. Jesus no longer walks upon earthly sod, so we are now His hands, His feet, His mouthpieces....  Let's pray to be instruments FOR HIM!

Until tomorrow when, Lord willing, I'll be back with another spoonful of tonic to share with you.....
