1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Ephesians 2:13
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Good morning, and a Sweet Saturday to you all!
Did you ever hear this question asked, "How can a black cow eat green grass, and give white milk?" I remember it well from years ago, but a deeper question also comes to mind, "How can black sin be washed by red blood and become white as snow?" Both questions, natural and spiritual, make one pause and ponder.
The subject of the blood of Jesus Christ is on my mind this morning. Calvary was not a beautiful picture, with all the pain and agony, but the blood of Jesus made all the difference for us. We are cleansed by His blood. Washed away are all our ugly black sins. The pure, spotless Lamb of God, who knew no sin, carried the sins of the entire world to Calvary. He shed His blood that we might be clean; our sins are washed away in a sea of forgetfulness, never to be remembered again. Oh, the precious blood of Jesus! I'm thankful for the blood.
There is a popular gospel song being played every day and I cannot get it off my mind. It was written and sung by Joseph Habedank, and I believe you will agree with me that it is an awesome song:
The Beauty of the Blood
by Joseph Habedank
Verse One
Coming clean, all the secrets he has kept from her so long
Are finally known
Her big mistake, that one regret that haunts her to this day
It just won't fade
Prechorus:
So many different stories, we thought could not be redeemed
But it's against our darkest failures, we start to see
Chorus:
The beauty of the blood, the goodness of this grace
The mercy undeserved, that could never be explained
Heaven's best takes all the scars for the worst in all of us
That's the glory of the cross, the wonder of His love
That's the beauty of the blood
Verse Two
What a thought, just a single drop forever wipes away
Our every stain
And with its power, every chain that held us now lies at our feet
We stand free
Bridge:
Forever changed, I stand amazed by everything it does
I would never have thought there was beauty in the blood of Jesus until I heard this song; it's a precious way of saying it. All the ugliness of sin becomes pure and white all because of the beauty of His blood!!
May your Saturday be sweet as you reflect on all that Jesus has done so that you might have life and have it more abundantly.
God bless you all, and I hope to see you tomorrow for yet another spoonful!
