2 Corinthians 10:4
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Good morning, friends!
I hope you're all feeling strong on this Saturday, because we are in a battle. A battle against evil. Every day, we are oppressed by the wickedness that seems to prevail in our world. It is time for us to realize that, while the battle is fierce, WE are strong in God. David wrote in Psalm 18:34, "He teacheth my hands to war." God has equipped us for our spiritual warfare (read Ephesians 6:10-18).
In Nehemiah's day, the burden to rebuild the walls was great, as was the opposition of the enemy. Nehemiah admonished the people to fight, not just for themselves, but to fight for their families and houses.
Nehemiah 4:14
And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
The Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy, his son in the Lord.... "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." (II Timothy 2:3) Throughout the Bible, we find many references regarding the battle we are fighting.
1 Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
We must be strong in the Lord, and take a stand. We are not weaklings because the power of God Almighty resides in us. Two of our strongest weapons are the word and prayer. It is vital that we use our weapons to defeat the enemy whose main objective is to steal, kill, and to destroy. There is victory in Jesus.
Once more, let me leave you with a few words to a beautiful song (written by a Bro. McFall):
I go to war on my knees
It's not flesh and blood I battle
But principalities
I'm fighting for my loved ones
And my family
So with my face before God
I go to war on my knees
Be not weary, faithful soldier of the cross. Keep fighting. Our last battle is not too far away!
Until tomorrow, be strong. We will prevail! I read the back of the book and WE WIN!!
