Hebrews 13:5
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
And a Sweet Sunday to you all!
I usually write early each morning but, in light of the fact that we were packing up to leave after Sunday School, I had to wait until after I was on the road before I could blog. I received some inspiration during church so maybe the delay was a good thing.
Before church in the prayer room I thought of what a close friend Jesus Christ is to me. In our natural lives, children grow up, marry, and leave home, some even move to other states. Even though it is unintentional, we lose closeness as we all seem to do our own thing. But Jesus is with us always, and during church, my soul was touched when a young man began to sing this song:
I Have Found a Friend in Jesus
by Charles W. Fry
Verse One
I have found a friend in Jesus
He's everything to me
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul
The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole
In sorrow, He's my comfort, in trouble, He's my stay
He tells me every care on Him to roll
Chorus
He's the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul
Verse Two
He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne
In temptation, He's my strong and mighty tower
I've all for Him forsaken and all my idols torn
From my heart and now He keeps me by His power
Though all the world forsake me and Satan tempt me sore
Through Jesus I will safely reach the goal
Verse Three
He will never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here
While I live by faith and do His blessed will
A wall of fire about me, I've nothing now to fear
From His manna, He my hungry soul shall fill
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face
Where rivers of delight shall ever roll
I love the Lord for His close friendship and fellowship. He will never move away nor forsake me. He is with me always!
Until tomorrow, Lord willing...........
