Wednesday's Whisper

John 3

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Good morning!!!
Last night, my husband and I visited with a young lady who had requested a home Bible study. Each time I am a part of this type of meeting, it reinforces the plan of salvation. I love this Bible story of the night meeting between Nicodemus and Jesus. Nicodemus was a ruler yet he sought for more and he knew just where to go to find it. The beginning of their conversation started out with Nicodemus acknowledging who Jesus was (and is) but, without missing a beat, Jesus got to the root of the matter but telling his guest about the necessity of being born again.
It's so simple and plain yet many are overlooking the truth today. We cannot bypass being born again of water and spirit. Without the new birth, we cannot see nor enter the kingdom of God. John 3 coincides with Acts 2 where the first church was born on the Day of Pentecost. Why do so many skip over these scriptures? Are they hoping to find an easier way to be saved?
I'm glad for the preaching I've heard since I was nine years old, and the wonderful experience I received when I was only eleven. Being born again of water and spirit made a new creature out of me. After repenting, my sins were remitted through baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and I received the gift of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues. I've never been the same since that day, and it gets sweeter as the days go by!
I love sharing the gospel with new people who are hungry for something to satisfy the longing in their souls. It's like offering bread to a hungry beggar or giving a drink of water to a thirsty man or woman. It's offering them life, the abundant life that only Jesus gives.
I love this song that came to mind while I was typing - Sweeter as the Days Go By, as sung by the Gaither Vocal Band:

Verse One
The more I trust Him, the more I love Him
Nothing good for me He'll deny
The longer I know Him, the better I can show Him
I couldn't stop now if I tried
Chorus
It gets sweeter as the days go by
It gets sweeter as the moments fly
His love is richer, deeper, fuller, sweeter
Sweeter, sweeter, sweeter as the days go by
Verse Two
The moment He saved me, His good grace He gave me
Placed His love down deep in my heart
There's great joy in knowing with Him I am going
And never more from Him to depart
May God strengthen all of us as we continue living for Him and sharing His truth with others!

Until tomorrow, Lord willing.............
