2 Corinthians 8:9
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
Good morning, everybody!
I love this verse from 2 Corinthians, and when I think of how our rich Lord Jesus Christ humbled himself to the poorest of poor, dying on a rugged cross for me, I am overcome with gratitude. He became poor that through His poverty I have become rich, not in earthly possessions but in priceless spiritual wealth. I'm rich. I'm a millionaire!
The late Teddy Huffam sang it best with this favorite song of mine:
Verse One
My Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills
I believe He knows each one
I stand amazed when I see His face
Knowing that I'm His son
Chorus
I'm rich in faith and hope and love
I've got more than my share
I'll be moving to my mansion just over in glory
Where I'm a rightful heir
Verse Two
I've a guardian angel watching me
We'll go everywhere
When I need my Father in heaven up above
I pray just a simple prayer
Verse Three
He has redeemed and forgiven me of all my sins
He took me in
He's building me a mansion beyond compare
Hallelujah! I'm a millionaire!
I trust that today's tidbit will impress on all of us the importance of being grateful for all the riches we have received from the Lord! He has blessed us abundantly!
Until tomorrow, Lord willing...........
