Romans 11:33
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Good morning, family and friends!
The verse above is not a long one, but its content is huge. The Apostle Paul is summarizing his feelings about God; there is so much depth and riches in the wisdom and knowledge of God. We can search all day and never tap into all of God - not His wisdom, nor knowledge, nor His judgments, nor His ways.
How big is God? We cannot comprehend His power and might for it goes so far beyond our limited knowledge. There are deep riches in the wisdom and knowledge of God. All that we can think about God; all that we think we know about God - we cannot even tap into a small portion of Him. He's just BIG!
An old song, written by Hank Snow, comes to mind....
How big is God
How big and wide His vast domain
To try to tell, these lips can only start
He's big enough to rule this mighty universe
Yet small enough to live within my heart
Until eternity, let's just stand in awe of God's greatness, and appreciate it with all that is within us. I love this short portion from Matthew Henry's commentary on Romans 11, with focus on verse 33:
"Paul was as well acquainted with the mysteries of the kingdom of God as ever any mere man was; and yet he confesses himself at a loss in the contemplation, and, despairing to find the bottom, he humbly sits down at the brink, and adores the depth."We serve a great, big, wonderful God, and He still whispers on Wednesdays!!
Until tomorrow, Lord willing...........
