Sunday's Specialty

2 Chronicles 20:21-22

21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.
22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

Good morning, everybody! It's Sunday!
Just before the victory we read about in 2 Chronicles 20:21-22, prayer and fasting took place. The people humbled themselves before God and they prayed to Him because they did not know what to do. The enemy was coming and they were fearful, but God did not let His people down. They prayed, they fasted, they praised! Oh, the power of praise!
Praise will bring the victory, because it takes the focus away from our problems and turns them to the Problem Solver. I do not know of another battle in the Bible that was won quite like the one we are writing about today. The people acknowledged their deficiency and praised God for his efficiency, and GOD wrought a mighty victory that day.
Situations in life often seem daunting and distressing, yet somehow in the midst of all life's battles, if we can praise God, the victory will be won, and God will receive all the glory. The battle is not ours, but God's. Through God, and only through Him, can we be valiant. The honor belongs to the Lord, and not to us. We cannot win the victory within the realms of human power; it only comes from the power of Almighty God.
Here's a song to hopefully add flavor to our Sunday spoonful (written by Bruce Haynes):
Verse One
When you're up against a wall
And your mountain seems so tall
And you realize life's not always fair
You can run away and hide
Let the old man decide
Or you can change your circumstances with a prayer
Chorus
When everything falls apart, praise His name
When you have a broken heart, raise your hands and say
"Greater is He that is within me"
And He'll take the pain away
When you feel so all alone, praise His name
And you feel all hope is gone, raise your hands and say
"Lord, You're all I need, You're everything to me"
You can praise the hurt away
If you'll just praise His name
Bridge
You can overcome by the blood of the Lamb
And by the word of your testimony
You'll see the darkness go, as your faith begins to grow
You're not alone so how can you feel lonely?

Whatever the need in your life today, seek God as they did long ago, acknowledging your weakness and His strength, then praise Him as you experience victory!! A special Sunday to each of you.
Until tomorrow, Lord willing..................
