Isaiah 61:3
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
Good morning, and a Wonderful Wednesday may it be for all of us!
I love the above verse from Isaiah. What an exchange system the Lord has in place! To those who mourn, the Lord will give us beauty where before there were only ashes; replacing mourning for joy; clothing us with praise instead of heaviness.......
The spoonful I'd like to focus on today is the "garment of praise." Every morning when we arise, we get dressed in our clothes for the day. Do we make sure we have on the garment the Lord has given us - the garment of praise? We need to be dressed up each day with this special garment. Why? Look at the last part of Isaiah 61:3.... "that he might be glorified." We put on our praise to glorify the Lord. It's not about us; it's all about Him!
As I've mentioned in other blog posts, we travel to quite a few churches, and hear many different choruses and songs. The one for today is an upbeat one about praise, written by Deitrick Haddon:
I, I got a praise, I got a praise
And I gotta let it out
I got a praise, I got a praise
And I gotta let it out
After singing that for a bit, they might break into this part:
If you're not ashamed to praise the Lord
Let me hear you clap your hands
If you're not ashamed to praise the Lord
Let me hear you stomp your feet
If you're not ashamed to praise the Lord
Let me see you raise your hands
Clap your hands, stomp your feet, raise your hands.....
Whew! Do you feel the praise rising? I do. I pray your morning starts off good, and keeps getting better..... all because you got FULLY dressed today with the garment of praise.
A Wonderful Wednesday is ahead for us.... and the Lord just might whisper loudly today - "Do you have your praise on????" Let's answer with a loud, worshipful, "YES, LORD!!!"
Until tomorrow, Lord willing.... keep praising..........
