Wednesday's Whisper

Luke 4:40

Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

Good morning, one and all!
We have been blessed to see another Wonderful Wednesday - Praise God!
Some time on Monday, my daughter sent a prayer request for her sister-in-law (a missionary's wife) who had contracted a fever similar to malaria. Immediately, we prayed and began believing God for a miracle for this young wife and mother.
Yesterday, in the evening, we found out that she was much better and would likely be released from the hospital! We were thrilled at the news that God had intervened on her behalf. What power our God holds! I continue to stand in awe of the privilege we have of pouring our needs out to God, and to know that He hears, and He answers!!!
I love reading through the Bible and finding an account of Jesus walking on earth, performing miracles. There's a thrill that runs through my soul as His stories unfold for me one more time. Because He is an unchanging God, miracles are still available to us today. The power and majesty recorded in the Bible are here for us in 2015! We're blessed above measure!
So many songs have been written about miracles, but I'll share this one as part of today's spoonful:
Verse One
A hand of fear gripped the crowd
That day at Jairus' home
When the doctor shook his head and said, "She's gone."
You could feel the mother's heartbreak
You could hear them cry and mourn
Their little girl was only twelve years old

But somewhere in the distance
Outlined against the sun
Came a Man with a mission from the throne
They said, "Somebody's coming", but what they did not know
It was a promise coming down their dusty road
Chorus
There's a promise coming down that dusty road
From His holy hands, healing virtue flows
He's got the keys to what you need
Death and hell He will defeat
There's a promise coming down that dusty road
Verse Two
Wonder turned to mocking when Jesus did speak
He said, "Your daughter's not dead, she's just asleep."
Then He turned to the unbelievers and told them all "Go home."
They heard Him say, "Leave me and death alone."

Then He laid His hands upon the child
Looked death right in the eye
He said, "All power in heaven and earth belongs to me."
Then with a voice that sounds like thunder
He hurled death asunder
And He said, "Little girl, rise and be healed."

I love this song! I believe it was written by Mickey Mangun or Karen Wheaton, but I'm not sure. I've heard it sung by several so I hope I'm giving credit where credit is due. It's a powerful song, bringing to life one of Jesus' miracles of long ago.
Rejoice with me today and let us praise God for performing miracles! Enjoy your Wonderful Wednesday!
Until tomorrow, Lord willing.............
