Zephaniah 3:17

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

Good morning..... Fabulous Friday, family & friends!

Today's spoonful of thankfulness is for the gift of song. Can you imagine a world without singing? Everywhere you go, a sound system resonates with melody and lyrics. God richly blessed us when He gave to us a song, especially the ones that honor Him.

So many scriptures, mostly in the book of Psalms, mention singing:

Psalm 7:17

 I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.

Psalm 27:6

And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.

Psalm 57:7

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

Psalm 59:16

But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

More times than I can recount my heart has been strengthened and encouraged by a beautiful song about my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Life can be so full of stressful issues but one song can dispel the doubt and lift one's spirits. 

I heard a chorus about 3 years ago, and I'd like to share its lyrics with you today (I could not find the artist's name):

You are the words and the music

You are the song that I sing

You are the melody

You are the harmony

Praise to Your Name I will bring

You are the Mighty God

You are the Lord of lords

You are the King of kings

Now I return to You

The love You gave to me

You are the song that I sing

Take some time today to sing a song to the Lord. After all, He not only gave the song, but He IS our song!!!
