Wednesday's Whisper

Lamentations 3:22-23

22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Good morning, one and all - 'tis Wonderful Wednesday once again!

Today is Thanksgiving Eve, a busy day for many of us, scurrying about as we plan for a big meal tomorrow. Yet, for some, this day will be like any other day, and it may be filled with all that is bad, sad and ugly. Yet, in all of it, and in spite of all the bad, God remains good.

My spoon is full of thanks to God today for His faithfulness; the fact that He is with us always and in all situations. Great is His faithfulness to all of us. What is faithfulness? I found four definitions that I like:

1)    strict or thorough in the performance of duty
2)    true to one's word, promises, vows, etc.
3)    steady in allegiance or affection; loyal; constant
4)    reliable, trusted, or believed

All of the above definitions describe MY God and His faithfulness to me. On bad days and on good ones, God is there. Maybe I could make that MY definition of faithfulness - it means that wherever I am, whatever I am doing - He's THERE!!!!  He's there for me and with me. He promised that He would never leave me.

To complete this blog post, I want to share the lyrics to an absolutely beautiful song:

He's Been Faithful
(I'm not sure the artist)
Damaris Carbaugh or Vicki Yohe

Verse One
In my moments of fear
Through every pain every tear
There's a God whose been faithful to me
When my strength was all gone
When my heart had no song
Still in love He's proved faithful to me
Every word He promised, is true
And what I thought was impossible
I've seen my God do

Chorus
He's been faithful, faithful to me
Looking back, Your love and mercy I see
In my heart I have questioned
Even failed to believe
But You've been faithful, faithful to me

Verse Two
When my heart looked away
The many times I could not pray
Still in love, He proved faithful to me
The days I spent so selfishly
Reaching out for what pleased me
Even then God was faithful to me
Every time I come back to Him
He is waiting with open arms
And I see once again

Let's all spend time today (and every day) thanking God for His faithfulness to us. May you all have a Wonderful Wednesday with our Wonderful Lord!

Until tomorrow when, Lord willing, we'll share another spoonful!
