Matthew 9:36
But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Good morning, friends!
Just reading this featured Bible verse gives us a clear understanding of the heart of Jesus. He was "moved with compassion" when He saw the multitudes. They were like sheep going different directions without the benefit of a Shepherd. He came to be their Savior; He came to be their Shepherd. But, even though they were scattered, many did not receive Him as their own.
To have a heart like Jesus - THAT should be our most earnest desire and prayer. Do we look at people outside of the church and see them with compassion? Do we weep and pray over lost humanity? Do we take time to share Jesus with the world? In every town and city where we've traveled over the past few years, we have seen hurting people. They are everywhere. Sin is bruising people; robbing them of life and peace, when Jesus wants to mend them and heal them.
The Lord is coming soon. The hour is urgent for born-again saints of God to be about our Father's business. We don't have much longer to touch our world. We must stay close to the Lord, so we can feel His heartbeat, which will then cause us to do things as He did. We are His hands, His mouth, His feet.... We are the only Jesus this world will ever see.
Once again, a song has come to mind to go along with today's spoonful of tonic:
O to be His hand extended
Reaching out to the oppressed
Let me touch Him; let me touch Jesus
So that others may know and be blessed
(written by V. B. Ellis)
Trusting that this day will not come to a close without each of us portraying Jesus, and touching someone as He would.
no hands but yours,
no feet but yours.
Yours are the eyes through which to look out
Christ's compassion on the world.
Yours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good;
yours are the hands with which he is to bless men now.”
- Teresa of Avila
Until tomorrow, Lord willing.............
