Sunday's Specialty

2 Chronicles 20:21-22

21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.

22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

Good morning, once again, friends..... Sunday is upon us!

Praise works! I love the story told in 2 Chronicles 20, of how the people of God were faced with a battle. Their leader, Jehoshaphat, feared but he knew where to take his fears. He sought the Lord with fasting and prayer, and God revealed a plan to them on how to fight. Singers were appointed to "praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army". They were to praise BEFORE the battle was won.

It seems to be our human nature to pray for victory in our lives, and often after we are granted victory, we are not careful in giving God thanks for delivering us. But, we can and should praise God BEFORE we ever receive the answer to our prayers. This Bible story is a great example of how to handle any situation. Fasting, praying, and praising still works! Even when we don't know what to do, God does, and He alone has the power to bring about great victories for us.

Whatever is facing us today - no matter the fight, PRAISE GOD! Sing unto the Lord; praise His holy name. And as one song says, "Praise Him in advance for the victory." It is a big step of faith to give God praise when we have not received our victory. But, by faith, it IS coming, and we are going to win!

I love this upbeat choir song, written by Donald Lawrence, from years back......

Don't wait til the battle is over, shout now.
You know in the end you're gonna win
When you're burdened down with the cares of life
And you're striving seems in vain
Hold your head up high,
Your deliverance is nigh,
When the battle is over,
When the battle is over,
When the battle is over
We're going home
Hallelujah!

Hoping and praying we all step into this praise mode today! All things are possible with God. He is well able to give us the victory; and, like Jehoshaphat and the people of Israel, we just might be three days in gathering up the spoil (or blessings) that God pours on us!

Special Sunday blessings to all of you, my family and friends!!

Until tomorrow, Lord willing...........
