Thursday's Thought

Psalm 25:4

Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

Psalm 86:11

Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

Good morning.... after reading the two verses above, I decided that today's spoonful topic will be:

My Thursday's Thought  - I pray to be taught!

Throughout the book of Psalms, David often prayed to God, with a simple two letter plea - "Teach me". He knew that God was the ultimate Teacher, so with a humble heart he made his requests, not once but over and over again. David's tone suggested a strong, earnest desire to learn from the Most High God.

As humans, we can try to lean on our own understanding and map out the course of our lives, but when we do, we often meet with disaster. How much better it would be for all of us, if we became students of the Lord Jesus Christ? He is the First and the Last, the Alpha and Omega, Beginning and the End. Who but God knows all? Imagine sitting in a classroom with God Almighty at the head of the class, writing lessons on the chalkboard, and answering all of our questions! I like that visual.

We never get too old to learn something new, especially when it relates to our walk with God. Let us seek to be as hungry to learn God's statutes as the child who is going to kindergarten on his very first day. May our hearts be so childlike in the pursuit of His knowledge and wisdom, that we absorb all the sights and sounds in His classroom, anxious to read His textbook (the Bible), and falling in love with the Teacher!!

It's just a spoonful, this Thursday's Thought...
But oh, how my heart yearns of God to be taught!
