Psalm 34:8
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Good morning! Thank you for stopping by for another spoonful of daily tonic.
I have just a little tidbit (small and particularly interesting item of information) to share with you. And, since our Bible verse mentions the words "taste" and "trust", I think it would be safe to say that we will enjoy a tasty tidbit of trust today!
I have just a little tidbit (small and particularly interesting item of information) to share with you. And, since our Bible verse mentions the words "taste" and "trust", I think it would be safe to say that we will enjoy a tasty tidbit of trust today!
In addition to looking up the definition of "tidbit", I also looked up the word "trust", and these are the meanings I liked:
"reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence."
It would seem that David discovered the sweetness of relying on the strength of his God, confident that no matter what he faced, all would be well.
Louisa M. R. Stead penned the beautiful words to the old hymn, "Tis So Sweet To Trust in Jesus", after suffering the loss of her husband as he tried and failed to save a drowning boy.
Babbie Mason penned yet another beautiful song, "Trust His Heart" with these lyrics,
God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart
One more tidbit before we close - a quote I found by Kent Crockett:
"The Lord doesn't always let us in on what He's doing. Trust fills the gap when we don't understand. We must give the Father the benefit of the doubt."
The longer we know the Lord, the sweeter the taste of trust becomes!
Trusting you found this tidbit tasty....
Ta-Ta!
