Psalm 71:16
I will go in the strength of the Lord God: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
Good morning, and a happy first day of the week to all of you!!
Soldiers need it for battle. Mountain climbers need it in order to scale the heights. Masons need it to build. They need STRENGTH! While the mentioned individuals need a physical strength to complete their tasks, a child of God needs spiritual strength. The people who frequently work out in their local gyms can build up strong muscles by daily exercise and lifting weights. Along the same line, spiritual strength is also obtained through exercise. A daily "workout" with God allows us to develop HIS strength.
Walking with the Lord each day in prayer is a must if we desire His strength. Lifting our hands in worship. Carrying one another's burdens. Running the race. Stretching out our hands to the needy. All of this is the exercise needed on our part in order for God to be strong in us.
We must also become weak so that Christ can become our strength.
In 2 Corinthians 12:9, the Apostle Paul wrote:
We must also become weak so that Christ can become our strength.
In 2 Corinthians 12:9, the Apostle Paul wrote:
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
According to the definitions I found for the word strength were: moral power, firmness, courage, and toughness. We will have all of this and more in Christ, and we can do all things because of HIS strength.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Go in the strength of the Lord today, and while you go, sing these few lines from a song by Phillips, Craig & Dean....
My source of strength
My source of hope
In Christ alone
Thanks!
