Thursday's Thought

Jeremiah 29:11

 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

The Bible is full of verses that lift up and encourage but this particular one is extremely reassuring. God is thinking about us - that in itself is a great comfort. Our awesome God, Creator of all and Ruler over all takes an interest in us; He has us on His mind! We are not just a fleeting thought, but God has plans for us. He is not only concerned with today, but He cares about our future. He knows all about what will transpire in our lives. We can find solace just knowing God is concerned and He is in control.

Quite a few years ago, someone came up with a little saying that if God had a refrigerator, our pictures would be on it. I always liked that thought. Imagine a God-sized refrigerator with pictures of all His children displayed on it!

The Psalmist David was also amazed by God's thoughts of him:

Psalm 139:17-18

 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

How very hard it is to comprehend that God loves us so very much, knows us so well, and thinks about us all the time!
