Wednesday's Whisper

Micah 6:8

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Good morning - 'Tis Wonderful Wednesday!
The sun is shining here in Sulphur, LA; a place we have come to love because of the wonderful pastor and family, as well as a precious church family. Today we are moving on to Nederland, TX, where our next revival starts this coming Sunday.
As I thought about today's blog post, the word humility came to mind. What does this word mean? I found this definition: "A modest or low view of one's importance; humbleness." To live victoriously as a Christian, one must be humble. It is never about us; all our focus and desires should be aimed toward Jesus Christ our Lord. HE is the One and only One who deserves the glory.
According to this verse, humility is something we wear:

1 Peter 5:5

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

I read a quote once that went something like this - When you think you have humility, you don't. Humility is not something flaunted, or it ceases to be. It's a virtue that you admire in someone; a strong part of a Christian's character.
In closing, here are a few quotes about humility:
There is a thin line between confidence and arrogance.
Confidence smiles. Arrogance smirks.
(Author Unknown)

Humility is the foundation of all other virtues.
Hence, the soul in which this virtue
does not exist, there cannot be
any other virtue
except in mere appearance.
--Saint Augustine--

True humility is not thinking less of yourself;
it's thinking of yourself less.
--C. S. Lewis--

May our desires be to walk humbly with God; and turn all focus away from us and to Him.
God bless your Wednesday, may it be Wonderful.... and may we all hear His whisper!
