Psalm 32:7
Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Good morning, family and friends!
'Tis Friday!!! Fabulous Friday! As I gaze out the window of my home in MS, where we have been for a little over two days, it appears that we shall have sunshine today.
As a child, I don't believe I ever had a secret hiding place, but I do remember loving to play alone because my imagination kept me company. Growing older, I suppose you could say that, while I still never developed a place to hide, I have hidden away in a favorite chair.... just to sit, think, meditate, cry.... and pray.
Even though I cannot write about a favorite clubhouse, tree, or other special "place" away from others, I did find MY PLACE and MY SPACE in One who is there whenever I need to be alone. He is there always... after all He lives in me because I have His Spirit, so wherever I am, He is there - my constant and faithful Companion.
Being home for just two days has afforded me time and space to work on our taxes, and that took up most of my yesterday. When I laid down last night, my neck was hurting so badly. After a bit, I got up and found an ice pack and, feeling an urge to steal away and pray, I rested in my recliner for just a short time. Slowly, the pain in my neck eased, as I quietly poured out my soul to my Friend above all friends. I was reminded of the song I posted about yesterday. Those who know Him know so much peace, joy, contentment.....
My Hiding Place brought the comfort I have grown to love dearly. He cares when others try but fail in their trying. He listens while others are fast asleep. His warm embrace was there for me in the very early hours of this day. After my quiet time with Him, I laid down and was soon fast asleep. What a difference a little talk with Jesus makes!
A song came to mind while I prayed and talked to my Sweet and Precious Lord Jesus, and I'd like to share it with you all:
He'll Hold You
by Selah
Verse One
Storms may come
Storms may go
The pain may linger
Like melting snow
The wind may toss you to and fro
But He'll hold you through it all
Chorus
He'll hold you
When the tempest rages all around
He'll hold you
Plant your feet on solid ground
He'll hold you
When the waves come crashing down
He'll hold you through it all
Verse Two
Hard times will come
Rain will pour
You can't see the road anymore
Your heart's been washed up
On life's shore
But He'll hold you through it all
Bridge
When you're fallin'
Hear Him callin'
He will come in the midst of your storm
Just hold on tight
With all your might
He will hold you through it all
Faithful, faithful, faithful is our Lord Jesus Christ! His love supersedes even the sweetest love of our family and friends. No one can touch us like He can.
May your Friday be truly Fabulous with our Faithful Friend and Father!
Until tomorrow when, Lord willing, we meet again for another spoonful......
Friday's Footnote:
Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God's love encompasses us completely.... He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken.
