Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Good morning, everyone!
We have awakened to a Fabulous Friday, once more thankful for another day to live for Jesus!
The above verse came to my mind early this morning. I've written about my struggles with weight gain so the words "where there is no vision" spoke to me. In order to be successful in any area of our lives, we have to "see" the goal. Without that "vision", we cannot succeed as we have nothing ahead to aim toward. Another phrase that came to my mind was, "Plan your work and work your plan."
As I normally do, the natural aspect of a thought gives way to a spiritual aspect, and the word "vision" is a commonly spoken word along those lines, too. If we have no vision of heaven, it can be easy to get off course. More than a vision of heaven, we have to keep our vision of Jesus clear in our hearts and minds. If we cannot "see" Him, other things will distract us.
This song from my childhood came to mind this morning as I thought about this blog post. It was a sweet melody with probing lyrics... and it is my prayer for today and the rest of my life:
Don't lose your vision of Jesus
Keep your eyes ever on Him
Many friends and dear loved ones have lost their way
They have lost their vision of Him
I can never forget the time or the place
When Jesus so sweetly came in
How He took those burdens I had carried so long
When I first got a vision of Him

The prize awaits us... eternity with Jesus awaits us.... let's keep our vision of Him intact!
