2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Good morning, everybody!
How many treasures do you own? I looked up the definition for the word treasure just to see what I'd find, and I liked this one: "wealth, rich materials, or valuable things." When you put it in that perspective, I have many, many treasures!
Some of my treasures are a little over an hour away from me.... our oldest son, our daughter-in-love, and three of our grandchildren! We are on our way to see them for a day or two. Our son turned 40 two days ago and, since we were a little closer to them than we normally are, belated celebration awaits!
My husband, parents, siblings, children, and grandchildren.... these are some of my dearest treasures. They mean so much to me, and when I don't see them often, I miss them terribly. I am richly blessed with family!
I've been blessed with so much in my life; beautiful, sweet treasures I hold because of God's richest blessings. But, above them all, is the Holy Ghost inside of me... which is Christ in me, the hope of glory. Jesus Christ resides in me; He is with me always.... and I cannot think of a treasure any more special than that!
I tried to find the lyrics to a song the other day, and I believe the Singing Americans, or the Galileans sang this one..... This is what I remember of this dear song:
Houses and lands
Riches and family
We've all had our share of these blessings
But of all the good things in life I've experienced
He's been the best thing that ever happened to me
All of the treasures God has given to me I hold dear to my heart; but, the treasure of His Spirit, His love, and His presence rates above everything else!
Have a Tremendous Thursday, and I pray God gives us another day tomorrow to share another spoonful!
