John 6:66-68
66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
Good morning - IT'S FRIDAY!
The Good Lord has blessed us to see another day, and a Friday it is! The weekend is just ahead, and a holiday weekend at that. I pray it's a fun and safe time for all.
In reading the sixth chapter of John, just before the verses I chose to focus on today, Jesus was teaching His disciples but some of the things He said were hard statements. There were those disciples who evidently were offended by His teaching, and they left, walking "no more with him." How sad to walk no more with Jesus just because what He said seemed offensive.
When Jesus questioned the twelve to find out if they were also leaving, Simon Peter answered, "Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life." Excellent answer, Simon Peter!! Who else but Jesus is there? Where can we find power and victory other than in Jesus. Who else has the "words of eternal life"? Nobody but the Lord!!
We can go to the Lord no matter the circumstances, whether good or bad as He alone is our source of strength and hope. There is no one else to turn but Him. He is all we need!

What a privilege to know that we have constant access to the Lord, day or night, He is always just a prayer away.
In closing, and as our footnote on this Friday, allow me to leave this quote by the late President Abraham Lincoln:
"I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go. My own wisdom and that of all about me seemed insufficient for the day."
