Hebrews 4:14-16

¹⁴Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

¹⁵For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

¹⁶Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Rise and shine, everybody - it's Sunday!

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad!! Seriously - this is another day that the Lord has given us wherein we can be glad and rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory! We are blessed by THE BEST!

Isn't it awesome to know that we have a high priest that can be touched by our infirmities? He was tempted just like us yet He did not sin. Because of this, we can come boldly to His throne of grace. Why? To find grace to help in time of need. Jesus is available 24/7, 365 days out of the year, and 366 on leap years. He is available at all times for all circumstances. He knows our needs and He cares about our needs. He has a never-ending supply of mercy and grace for those who come to Him.

I've never been inside a throne room here on this earth so I have no idea what it's like or even the proper protocol when standing in the presence of royalty. I would imagine one must be extremely polite and reverent but an earthly king or queen cannot be touched as I assume they are surrounded by guards because of their status. I also imagine one would need to set up an appointment for an audience with a royal magistrate.

Yet, Jesus is so near. Just the mention of His name brings His presence; just the thought of Him brings Him close. And, He is oh, so touchable!!! I love that about the Lord. He can be touched any time we need Him. When I imagine being in the presence of the King of kings, I visualize what I think a throne might look like, with me kneeling before Him in awe. But there are times when the burden is so overwhelming, that I imagine laying my head in His lap as tears gush out of my eyes. He is our Father, and that's what we would do as children, right? We would lay our heads in the lap of our earthly father and bawl our eyes out, while we sniffle and pour out our complaints or hurts.

Whatever the need today, God is near, waiting for us to simply come and spend time in His presence. The throne of grace is open for all today and every day, be it daytime, noontime or nighttime. Another thought that thrills me is that I can come to God in Texas today, while others come to Him from the other states or countries, and He hears us all at the same time! What a mighty God we serve!

The Lord is near, and He's waiting for His children to come to Him. There's room at the throne for each of us. There's an abundance of mercy and grace to be poured out from Jesus Christ our Lord!!
