Rise and shine, everybody - It's Sunday!!
All week long, we've performed a myriad of work duties away from home, or chores around the house but, today, it's time to lay aside all that we have done for ourselves and enter into God's house to worship HIM!! After all, if it wasn't for the Lord, we would have no jobs or houses to even call our own.
Worship - what IS worship? As a noun, it means adoring reverence or regard; as a verb, it means to render religious reverence. So, if I want to put this in my own words, our worship of God is our adoration of Him, but when we worship Him, we are giving Him the reverence that is due Him. We feel worship (as a noun) and we give worship (as a verb).
God alone is worthy of all our worship; our deepest adoration belongs only to Him. We must love Him above all others, and it is not a "have to feeling" but rather, a "want to case". A true Christian loves to worship God. It is not something they are forced to do but rather it comes willingly and freely from a heart that continually stands in awe of our Creator, our Savior, and our soon coming King.
My brother taught us a chorus some years back, a simple chorus with few lyrics but packed with power. I do not know the artist behind this beautiful chorus (it may be my brother - I'll find out...) but I feel this on my heart today:
Worship the King, worship the King
We are in His presence
To magnify His name
When we seek His face
Glory fills this place
As we worship the King
Then, after singing the above words for a while, he added these words from an old Christmas song:

I'm looking forward to worship time with fellow believers in just a short time. Jesus is worthy, and I want to do my part to let Him know that I love Him, I adore Him, and I thoroughly enjoy being in His presence (especially at church).
