Song of Solomon 2:1
I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
Good morning - it's FRIDAY!!!
I remember when I worked outside of my home and how excited all employees became each Friday. We all looked forward to the two-day weekend where we might do as we pleased. Well, I no longer work outside the home but I still like Fabulous Fridays!
Something else, or rather Someone else I really love - Jesus! It's hard to describe my feelings about Him, so I often go to the scriptures for help in conveying my thoughts. Today's verse from the Song of Solomon is one of them. He's the Rose of Sharon; Lily of the valleys; the Bright and Morning Star; fairest of ten thousand to my soul! He's my Lord and my God! The list could go on and on and on......
This chorus (written by Juanita Bynum) is so sweet and further communicates how my soul feels about Jesus:
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, what a wonder You are
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, what a wonder You are
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, what a wonder You are
O, Jesus, what a wonder You are
Beautiful Rose of Sharon, what a wonder You are
Beautiful Rose of Sharon, what a wonder You are
Beautiful Rose of Sharon, what a wonder You are
O, Jesus, what a wonder You are
Lion of the tribe of Judah, what a wonder You are
Lion of the tribe of Judah, what a wonder You are
Lion of the tribe of Judah, what a wonder You are
O, Jesus, what a wonder You are
He's a Wonder, the most wonderful Wonder of all times! He remains when all else fails. He brightens up every dark moment. Wow! O, wow! What a wonderful Jesus!
I hope you get caught up in the awesome power of Jesus today, and all He has been, all He is, and all He will be to us!
Until tomorrow when, Lord willing, we'll meet again, here's a footnote for this Fabulous Friday -
It is not easy to convey a sense of wonder, let alone resurrection wonder, to another. It's the very nature of wonder to catch us off guard, to circumvent expectations and assumptions. Wonder can't be packaged, and it can't be worked up. It requires some sense of being there and some sense of engagement.
