John 15:4-5
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Good morning, family & friends!
'Tis another Sweet Saturday as we trek along life's highway. We are truly blessed people, for we know whom we have believed, and we are definitely "persuaded that he is able to keep that which I (or we) have committed unto him against that day." (2 Timothy 1:12). Our trust is in the Lord, and our dependence is on Him.
Just as a branch cannot live or produce without being connected to the main vine, so it is with us. We must stay connected to the True Vine. We must abide in the Lord, as He is our main source of strength, power, peace, etc., etc. We have nothing and are nothing without Him. Yet, when we are truly connected to our Vine, we can and should be productive fruit bearers. Just as verse 5 states above, if He abides in us, and we abide in Him, "the same bringeth forth much fruit." I plan to stay connected to my Source, don't you?
Here's a sweet song to go along with today's spoonful:
In Christ Alone
by Brian Littrell
Verse One
In Christ alone will I glory
Though I could pride myself in battles won
For I've been blessed beyond measure
And by His strength alone I'll overcome
Oh, I could stop and count successes like diamonds in my hands
But those trophies could not equal to the grace by which I stand
Chorus
In Christ alone
I place my trust
And find my glory in the power of the cross
In every victory
Let it be said of me
My source of strength
My source of hope
Is Christ alone
Verse Two
In Christ alone do I glory
For only by His grace I am redeemed
For only His tender mercy
Could reach beyond my weakness to my need
And now I seek no greater honor in just to know Him more
And to count my gains but losses to the glory of my Lord
My plan is to stay planted in God's power... and to produce!! Let us move on into this new year with purpose!
God bless your Saturday, and I hope to meet again tomorrow to share another spoonful!
