Saturday's Snippet

Psalm 119:103

 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Good morning, one and all!

'Tis Saturday, O, Sweet Saturday!! Today is often a day of rest and relaxation for people who have worked hard all week long; a day to just "chill." Many will shop, or take part in some type of sport, or just have fun. All of us will eat!

I love to eat and I truly love sweets - cookies, cupcakes, muffins, pies, cakes, candy..... If it's sweet and fattening, I'm on board! However, one cannot digest all sugar without having negative physical results. One must have a balanced diet with little or no sugar in order to be considered healthy. It's hard to stay balanced sometimes, and it seems I am forever trying to avoid too many sweets. O, woe is me! (Smile)

But such is not the case with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whose words are sweet like honey. There is no restriction to digesting His words. We never have to watch how much of Him we take in. There's no word like the Word of God; nothing as filling or nourishing. His words are pleasant words that direct our steps, while often reprimanding or comforting us. We can say along with David:

Oreos and Little Debbie Cakes, Skittles and brownies are temporary fixes for our sweet cravings. But, the sweet words of the Lord will satisfy forever!
