Psalm 103:10-14
10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
Good morning, one and all!
We have awakened to another Sweet Saturday! It is of the Lord's mercy that we opened our eyes and arose from our beds to do His bidding on this day.
Recently, I attended a ladies' meeting at the church where we were ministering, and I thought later of all our differences. Some among us were older; some younger; some middle aged. Each of us were dealing with issues unlike the one we sat beside that night. Some ladies lived for God alone because their mates were unsaved. Others were women whose mates lived for God along with them. Some of the women were single; some married. A few were in leadership in the church; others were faithful behind-the-scenes workers. One lady stood out as on her nearly bald head she wore the familiar pink cap of a cancer patient.
We had gathered for the purpose of doing crafts. Again, our differences were revealed as a few who were adept at crocheting tried to teach others the craft. One group was making flower pins, and two of us were trying desperately to rework a man's necktie into another useful craft. Whether successful at our crafts or not, we all enjoyed the fellowship, fun and food.
All of us were different yet we shared one common denominator - God had called us all out of darkness into His marvelous light. Regardless of age, status in life, etc., He had a purpose for each one of us. He was using us all for HIS glory. Different, yet alike, for we were all God's children. What a humbling revelation!
Because of these thoughts, I was reminded of a beautiful song by the late Daniebelle Hall:
Ordinary People
by Danniebelle Hall
Just ordinary people
God uses ordinary people
He chooses people just like you and me
Who are willing to do as He commands
God uses people that will give Him all
No matter how small your all may seem to you
Because little becomes much when you place it in the Master's hand
Just like that little lad
Who gave Jesus all He had
How the multitude was fed
With the fish and the loaves of bread
What you have may not seem much
But when you yield it to the touch
Of the Master's loving hand, yes,
Then you'll understand
How your life could never be the same
I am so blessed to be a part of the greatest family on earth - God's family. Grateful to be a worker in His fields. Humbled that He lives in me through the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. My utmost desire is to be used of Him until that day we all behold His face in heaven, where we'll live with Him for eternity.
Enjoy your Sweet Saturday with the Savior, being used of Him wherever and whenever He needs you.
Hope to see you again tomorrow for another spoonful!
