Tuesday's Tidbit

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Good morning, one and all!
Thank God for Tuesday, another day to live and bring Him glory.
Life is busy. It's filled with all types of work, concerns, tasks, problems, etc. Being painfully honest this morning, sometimes life is overwhelming. Many people have their lists written and are so organized but some, like me, struggle with working through our lists (what list?).
I'm reminded of something I read from a desk calendar written by John Ortberg (God is Closer Than You Think). On one or more days, Mr. Ortberg conveys to his readers that if you are in business, ask the Lord to work the business with you. I like to think of it as asking the Lord to be the CEO of my concerns. The Manager of my madness. The President of my problems.
Better yet, it is best to follow the words of Jesus from Matthew 11:28-30....
1) First of all, He bids us COME. He gives us an invitation, especially those who are heavy laden (they have a lot on their lists). He promises rest.
2) This is my main focus today - Jesus bids us to take HIS yoke upon US. I feel Him saying, "Share my yoke with me. I am the Veteran here. I will show you how it's done." Learn of Jesus. What better teacher is there than Jesus? He is meek and lowly and, once again, He promises rests for our souls.
3) Last of all - His yoke is easy. The burden of sin is heavy and difficult. But, the Christian's load is much lighter because we have Jesus helping us with that load.
Yes, the concerns we have today may seem heavy to us. Our list may seen ten miles long but, if we ask Jesus to help us, and we should have prayer at the top of our list, He will.
I thought of a song just a minute ago, but cannot seem to find all the lyrics nor the artist's name, so this is from memory:
Cast your cares on Him
For He cares for you
The intangible He holds
The impossible He'll do
Let the mighty hand of Jesus carry you
Cast your cares on Him
For He cares for you

I'm thankful that the Lord gave the inspiration for this blog post today. May your Tuesday be Terrific, and your load lighter because you have taken on the yoke of Jesus.

God bless you all, and I hope to see you again tomorrow!
