Friday's Footnote

Psalm 66:16-20

¹⁶ Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

¹⁷ I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.

¹⁸ If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

¹⁹ But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

²⁰ Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

Good morning, Good morning.... Fabulous Friday is upon us!

What a blessing to awaken to yet another day given to us by the Lord! If you work outside of your home, or if you're attending school, Friday means the end of your work week. Be glad!! 

The above verses from Psalm 66 are very special to me, especially verse 20. Around Mother's Day 2000, I faced one of the darkest trials of my life. My heart was so distressed that I couldn't seem to even pray. But, on that particular Sunday morning, I opened my Bible and just began to read. All of a sudden, verse 20 seemed to leap off the page and touched my soul deeply. I wept because it held a promise for me that God was listening to my prayer! A few years after that date, the answer came! 

The Psalmist David gives an invitation in verse 16 - "Come.... let me tell you what he hath done for my soul." Then, he tells of his crying out to God, and his praise to God. He acknowledges the fact that God will not hear us if there is iniquity in our hearts. But, God DOES hear. He listens, truly listens, when His children cry out to Him. Blessed be our God who doesn't turn away our prayer nor His mercy from us. Hold to these promises. He not only hears but He answers!

Whatever the need - healing, restoration, deliverance.... miracles await us if we will pray! Believing today for miracles to take place for some very special people in my life. God is able!
