Thursday's Thought

Ephesians 6:11

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Good morning, each and every one of you!

Last night's mid-week service was powerful, stirring and provoking. Pastor Sandy taught about three battles we all are facing: The Devil, Our Flesh, and The World. Awesome teaching, but the end of his message was the most provoking. He shared with us several issues America is likely going to face soon. My heart was pricked as I realized anew that now is the time to be closer to God than ever before.

Throughout the message, Bro. Sandy emphasized that we must have on the WHOLE armor of God - not just a part. What good is it if our feet are shod, but we don't have our helmets on? Or, what if we have on the helmet of salvation but our feet are not shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace? Is our sword of the Spirit enough without our shield of faith? Will we be protected if we have on the breastplate of righteousness but we failed to gird up our loins with truth? We must have on the WHOLE armor of God.

It is not a time to fear (which is easy to do when we hear of things that are coming upon us and we don't know when or how), but it is HIGH time to awake out of sleep. Bro. Sandy passionately encouraged us to have on the whole armor of God and put our total trust in Jesus Christ.

Perhaps we should all re-read Chapter 6 of Ephesians, and listen to Shirley Caesar sing her song. We're in a battle, Christians soldiers, but we're going to win!!! We must win, for the alternative to winning is destruction.
