Psalm 119:57
Thou art my portion, O Lord: I have said that I would keep thy words.
Good morning, and a Fabulous Friday it is!
The Psalmist David was a man after God's own heart, and he chose the Lord as His portion. In Matthew Henry's commentary, we read these words regarding the above verse:
"Others place their happiness in the wealth and honours of this world. Their portion is in this life; they look no further; they desire no more; these are their good things."
While others were looking for satisfaction in temporal things, David's allegiance was to God Almighty; the One and Only God; One who would never pass away. David also promised the Lord that he would keep His words.
Everything we need is in Jesus. I awoke this morning with the words of this beautiful song by Kari Jobe on my mind, and it says best what I feel to be a worthy spoonful of tonic for today:
Healer
You hold my very moment
You calm my raging seas
You walk with me through fire
You heal all my disease
I trust in You, I trust in You
I believe You're my healer
I believe You are all I need
Jesus, You're all I need
I believe You're my portion
I believe You're more than enough for me
Jesus, You're all I need
Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible
Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands
May your Friday be fabulous as you reflect on Our Father, the Giver of all good things!
Until tomorrow, Lord willing....................
Friday's Footnote - The Lord never forgets His promises to us; let's not forget the promises we've made to Him!!
