Friday's Footnote

Psalm 91:4

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Good morning, and a Fabulous Friday to all of you!
After church last night, as a few of us were eating and fellowshipping, the conversation turned to world events. Questions were posed as to what was going to happen next, and how would we all be affected by these things? No one had any real answers but it felt good to talk among Christian friends. The pastor's wife made one statement to the effect that when it's all said and done, we must be ready.
If we focus only on events taking place in our nation and in our world, we can become troubled and fearful. Instead, this is a time to draw near to God, reinforcing every spiritual weapon we have been given, and resting in the assurance that God is our protection. The verse above says He will cover us, and we can trust Him under that covering. Truth will prevail.
I heard a story years ago about a young lady, after hearing a message entitled, "Covered With His Feathers", was in her car driving home but stopped for a red light. She did not know that her passenger door was unlocked and a would-be assailant hopped into the car with her. Thinking quickly, she remembered the message and began waving her arms wildly while yelling, "I am covered with His feathers! I am covered with His feathers!" The man jumped out of her car and ran, never touching her. What a story!
Rejoice in knowing that we are never alone, and there is no warrior like our God. Our God will fight for us. We need only stay within His covering! Here's the chorus of a song that I love to hear the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir sing:
I am covered, covered
Covered by His blood
Walking by faith,
Living in love
I am covered, covered
Covered by His blood
Jesus has rescued me
Friday's footnote: Fear not, our Father has Feathers!!!

Until tomorrow, Lord willing...............
