Proverbs 31:28
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Good morning!
Happy Mother's Day to each mother that will read this blog post!
God has blessed me to be a mother - of Andrew, Heidi and Benjamin. What a treasure it was to raise each of them, provide their needs, and give them love. Sometimes I miss them being small; I'd like to cradle them in my arms and sing them a lullaby one more time. But, time moves on, and we all grow older and build our own lives.
In addition to being a mother, I have been blessed to be a grandmother, and if I thought being a mother was great, well, being a grandmother (I actually carry the title Mimi with honor) is off-the-charts great!!! If you're a grandmother, then you fully understand these words. What blessings - that of children and grandchildren.
I'm thankful that my dear mother is still with me today, and though miles apart, we are close in heart. I sincerely feel for those who have lost their mothers. My own dear Mother-in-Love left us over twenty years ago, and I miss her terribly, wishing for one more hug.
I pray that all of you special ladies will bask in the blessing of motherhood today. Enjoy the day that the nation has set aside for our honor. Even though my children and grands are all in three different states (and none are in MY state), and my dear mother is miles away, I choose to be thankful rather than whine and complain because we're apart.
Thank You, Lord, for giving me the gift of children and grandchildren!
While trying to think of an appropriate song, I thought of this one by the Winans - Special Lady - (here are just a few lines of that sweet song):
And when she smiled you felt the sun rolls on your shoulder
She was that acclaim of love when life grew colder
Even though sometimes she scold you
She will come again to console you
Let her epitaph be for all the world to see
She was a very special lady......
God bless all mothers everywhere today and always!
Until tomorrow, Lord willing....................
