Saturday's Snippet

Psalm 5:3

 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

Good morning to all of you on this sweet Saturday!

When I Googled the question, "What is prayer?", I found this quote by a Matt Slick:

"Prayer is the practice of the presence of God.  It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made.  Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God.  Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian.  Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope." 

Prayer is talking TO God, but more importantly, it is talking WITH God. During prayer time, it isn't so much what WE say to God, it is all about what GOD says to us. Do we listen while praying, or do we do all the talking? It is vital that we listen while praying. Things become clearer when we are in God's presence, and we can feel His touch; when we can sense how to proceed in our daily chores. God becomes nearer and dearer when we pray.

If we live with a spouse and/or a family, we would think it strange to go through each day without communication between us and those we love. Yet, I wonder how God feels when we do not give Him that kind of attention? After all, we only live and have what we have because of Him. Seeking God early in the morning sets the pace for the day.
