2 Samuel 22:49
And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
Good morning, to all my family and friends!
As I was pondering an appropriate spoonful to serve my guests this morning, I thought of a few lines from an old hymn:
Lift me up above the shadows
Plant my feet on higher ground......
And then a few lines from yet another hymn:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand
By faith on heaven's tableland
A higher plane than I have found
Lord, lead me on to higher ground
The Lord lifts us up higher; He places us above the issues of life. One verse says, "The name of the Lord is a strong tower....." (Proverbs 18:10). A tower is a structure you can run into, allowing you to be above your surroundings. We can run to Jesus, hide in Him, and He will lift us high above it all.
One newer song, You Raise Me Up, by Josh Groban, came to mind as I began to write this morning:
When I am down, and oh, so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
Until You come and sit awhile with me
You raise me up so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on Your shoulders
You raise me up .... to more than I can be
Without the Lord, we have no strength or power, but through Him we can do ALL things, because He strengthens us.... and lifts us above it all!
Until tomorrow, Lord willing......... I pray you feel the lift from the Lord!!!
